What a lookup can verify

Every credit union has a record, not every record runs deep

All 4,374 federally-insured credit unions carry a base NCUA Call Report record. The branch-network layers below, mapped location, multi-branch reach, ATM access, drive-thru service, exist for a smaller share, so a lookup or comparison returns more detail for some credit unions than others.

  • NCUA Call Report on file 100% 4,374

Assets, members, net worth, delinquency, ROA and health score for every federally-insured credit union.

  • Branch office mapped 98.9% 4,328

At least one physical location on file from the NCUA institution/branch data.

  • Multi-branch network 68.5% 2,996

Two or more mapped branch offices, not a single-office credit union.

  • ATM access on file 60.6% 2,649

A mapped branch reports an on-site ATM.

  • Drive-thru service on file 59.9% 2,619

A mapped branch reports drive-thru service.

How PlainCU Comparison Works

1

Financial Health Score

Composite 0–100 score based on net worth ratio, delinquency rate, ROA, loan-to-share ratio, and member growth. Higher is better.

2

Capital Adequacy

Net worth ratio shows how well-capitalized a credit union is. NCUA requires at least 7% to be "well capitalized." Source: NCUA quarterly call reports.

3

Loan Quality

Delinquency rate measures loans 60+ days past due as a percent of total loans. Lower rates indicate stronger underwriting and lower credit risk.
